Mr. Subianto is currently serving as Assistant to the Special Staff
of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for International
Affairs/Presidential Spokesperson.
Mr Subianto is also a Visiting Lecturer at the Post-Graduate
Program at University of Indonesia; the Indonesian Naval Graduate
Course; and the Advanced Diplomatic Course (SESDILU) Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. Prior to joining the government, Mr. Subianto
worked as professional researcher at the Centre for Strategic and
International Studies (CSIS), a leading think-tank in Indonesia,
for eight years. Mr. Subianto also served as the national secretary
for the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia and Pacific
(CSCAP) Indonesia (1999-2005).
Mr. Subianto received his BA in International Relations from
Padjadjaran University (1996, graduated
cum laude), and
Masters in Political Economy from the Department of Government,
University of Essex, UK (1998). He was a Visiting Fellow at Japan
Institute of International Affairs (2000-2001), and International
Visiting Fellow on Multi-Regional Security, State Department,
Washington DC (2001). In October 2003, Mr. Subianto received the
Dwidya Sistha Medal from the Commander of Indonesian Armed
Forces.
Mr. Subianto has authored/edited numerous books and articles
appeared in national and international newspaper. His publications
